Silvanisin — Natural Nisin Preservative (2.5%)
Silvanisin is a 2.5% nisin preservative manufactured by Technofood, delivering more than 1,000 IU of nisin activity per gram. It gives food producers a natural, label-friendly way to control spoilage and pathogenic bacteria — within the limits set by EU food additive law.
Nisin (E234) is a natural antimicrobial peptide produced by Lactococcus lactis, approved as a food additive in the EU and 50+ countries. It controls Gram-positive spoilage bacteria by binding to the bacterial cell membrane, extending shelf life while digesting like any other protein — a clean-label alternative to many synthetic preservatives.
